Working under the name of Rok Chix, I design and make unique, funky, handmade jewellery made from cut and uncut semi-precious gemstones and freshwater pearls set in fine and sterling silver, all of which are handcrafted by the sea right here in Brighton.

Having studied numerous jewellery-making techniques, including silversmithing at Central St Martin's School of Art in London, I am always looking for new ways to make gorgeous jewellery that's creative but at the same time highly wearable. My big obsession is semi-precious gemstones, which I love with a passion, especially raw, uncut stones. Their natural beauty compliments the organic feel of many of my pieces, which, for me at least, are an antidote for the mass-produced, highly-polished, factory-made jewellery that's normally found on the high street.

I specialise in dramatic yet unfussy pieces that allow the beauty of the gemstones to take centre stage. Many of my designs are simple and classic, while others are funkier and more fashion-led. Some are even worn by some real-life rock chicks, including Girls Aloud, Kelly Osbourne, Peaches Geldof, Fergie from Black Eyed Peas and former Sugarbabe Mutya Buena, among others.

See the entire Rok Chix collection at my website rokchix.com, where you can buy any of the pieces on display (I have secure credit card payment facilities). During the Brighton Artists' Open House festival, however, there will be some great bargains on offer as many of the pieces on show will be available at special Artists' Open House prices. See you at Fred & Ginger's!
